What is personal data?

Data collection

Your personal data on this website can be collected either directly or indirectly. It can be collected directly when, for instance, you voluntarily provide personal information for processing, when registering for Partner Premium Services or when completing contact forms. To provide our services, we collect – or may collect – your name, telephone number, e-mail address, Company, country, services used and any other data that you might communicate in your communication.

Your personal data can be collected indirectly when using cookies and other technologies. Unify intends to collect information such as the number of visitors, as well as user’s last visit date and consulted page. Please refer to the “cookies and other tracking technologies” part below.

An automated decision making does not take place in the context of this data processing.

 

Purpose of the processing

The purpose of the processing the data is described below:

When you visit our Technology Partner websites, the web server temporarily creates some records such as name or your computer’s IP address or files requested by the client.

The recorded data is solely used for data security purposes and to protect against attempted attacks on our web server.  We do not use it to create individual user profiles nor do we share this information with third parties.

We use your identification data to enable you to contact us via the website, based on information you request.

If you are contacting us via embedded application or support forms, personal data is collected. Which data is collected can be seen from the respective form which was used by the applicant. Relevant data is stored and used exclusively for the purpose of responding to your request, for establishing contact and for associated services

Other personal details, such as your name, address, telephone number, or email address will not be collected unless you provide this information voluntarily.

Your data will be manually deleted after final processing of your enquiry provided that there are no legal storage obligations to the contrary.

Unify will provide its contracted Technology Partners with access to the Unify Technology Partner Portal as well as online access to technical documentation, drivers, patches and tools available and will give the partner a username and password for the Unify Technology Partner Portal.

The portal access for partners is part of the contract concluded under the Unify Technology Partner Program. Processing of personal data is required to allow registered partners to perform business supported by information provided on the portal.

The partner will present there its company and its partnership products together with relevant test reports of certified products! It is the responsibility of the partner to comply with all claims of data protection rights, keep the presented data up-to-date and to delete relevant information for the end of the contract. The published data can be also provided to internal Unify organizations for further processing and is partly visible for external visitors of the website.

Access to restricted areas of the portal is setup through the portal administrator obtaining confirmation from the partner or by receiving a valid access request by the partner itself. Such user data (name, phone number, e-mail address) are only used to grant portal access.

For the purpose of contract processing and providing of other contractually agreed services we will process and store personal data of contracted partners (e.g. name, postal address, e-mail address).

Due to contractually support commitments, the data may continue to be used for Unify internal purposes even after the end of the contract. However, you have the right to request the data to be deleted.

With log-in, or where a log-in is not required, by starting the use of the Technology Partner Extranet Sites the Terms of Use for these Unify Web Sites are accepted in their then current version as posted on the footer of corresponding Web Sites.

Data inventory review and deletion processes are in place in order ensure that data are kept in a form that allows identification of individuals for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which they are processed.

Accuracy, relevance and security of your personal data

Any personal data processed by Unify is kept on secure servers. Unify uses reasonable administrative, technical, personnel, and physical measures to safeguard personal data against loss, unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or modification and to ensure the integrity of the personal data. Additionally, Unify ensures to process your personal data only for the purposes mentioned in this privacy notice and to keep data no longer than necessary.

Who can access your data?

Your personal data can be accessed by:

  • Our external service providers such as  Google Dialog Flow (chat), Olark (Real time chat) and Salesforce (customer relationship management solution) which have been specifically authorized to store Data. You can access Salesforce’s certifications standards and regulations which contain Salesforce’s personal data protection policy here, Olark GDPR regulations here and Google Cloud GDPR here.
  • Unify’ employees that have been formally authorized.
  • Data is stored in Germany. There is no transfer to third countries, but it can be accessed (at least by company admins) globally.

 

Your rights

You have:

  • the right to information regarding how your personal data is processed.
  • The right of access your personal data processed by Unify.
  • The right to erasure which allows you to require your personal data to be deleted by Unify.
  • The right to restriction of processing which allows you to control how your data is processed.
  • The right to object the processing of your personal data which means that you can require that Unify ceases to process your personal data
